Meet Becky Henne, a soon-to-be graduate of the Moraine Park medical assistant program. She currently lives in Waupun with her husband and together they have five children and three grandchildren! Her hobbies include camping, walking, being outdoors, and spending time with her family.

“I have been a CNA/RA for 27 years. I knew I wanted to stay in the healthcare field, but I didn’t want to be a nurse,” Becky said. “I started looking online at the Moraine Park programs and the medical assistant program sounded like a perfect fit for me!”

Becky will graduate with her technical diploma on May 19.

“I have had an amazing experience at Moraine Park,” Becky said. “My favorite thing about this college is the diversity of the people. Everyone was welcoming, helpful, and kind. I have developed some great friendships.”

Becky also appreciates the smaller class sizes and her helpful instructors. She has been set up for success, so much so that she is already well into her career! Becky was hired as a part-time medical assistant at the Beaver Dam Community Hospital Medical Clinics in Horicon last October. She started her career seven months before graduating!

“My first week on the job, the staff told me about a full-time position opening up at another clinic in Juneau,” Becky said. “By the second week of my practicum, I had accepted a full-time medical assistant position at the Beaver Dam Community Hospital Medical Clinics in Juneau.”

What exactly does Becky have to say about working in the medical assistant field?

“Being a medical assistant is very rewarding. No two days are the same, it can be a fast-paced environment, and you will experience both the clinical and clerical side,” Becky said. “My advice is if you are looking to enter into the healthcare field and are an empathetic, friendly person who is able to wear many hats, you might want to consider a career as a medical assistant. More people like you are needed!”

We couldn’t be happier for Becky and all of her accomplishments, but this might not be the last we see of her. Her goal is to work for a while as a medical assistant and then possibly come back to Moraine Park to earn her medical office management degree. And, we hope she comes back, too!

Until then, we are wishing her a huge congratulations on her upcoming graduation and her career accomplishments! We are proud to be a part of her journey.
