Opportunities await in MLT

Moraine Park female staff type on keyboard

Currently, I have 7 students at clinical sites practicing to become Medical Laboratory Technicians (MLT). Working in the MLT field, body fluids – primarily blood – is tested to help the physicians with treatment plans and diagnosis for their patients. This is an exciting time for MLT students; now they see how their didactic studies at Moraine Park support the work that is done in a clinical lab.

It is exciting for me as well!

As I visit them at the clinical sites, I take some time to talk with each student and their mentor(s). All I’ve been hearing is good news and three of the students have been asked to apply to the facility that they have been training at for open positions. This is awesome!

The Medical Laboratory Technician field is very much in demand and openings in health care facilities in Wisconsin and nation wide are actively recruiting new graduates and even pre grads! I am confident that we will continue to have excellent placement rates in MLT career placement for many years to come!
