As you might have heard, MyMPTC as we currently know it is no longer supported by Ellucian. Thus, we have embarked on a new student portal and have chosen WordPress as the platform.
Student Input
Before beginning the project, we talked to our student representatives about what they would like in a portal—and importantly, what would motivate them to visit the portal regularly—and began our planning with their feedback in mind. Their consistent feedback was that the current portal is overwhelming with information, and they don’t know where to look to find what they need because there is too much content. Continue reading
The Moraine Park Foundation recently hosted its Gourmet Dinner with a special “Black & White” theme.
The event was held on the College’s Fond du Lac campus and helped raise funds for student scholarships and emergency financial assistance. In fact, we’re excited to say that this year’s Gourmet Dinner raised nearly $30,000 for these important causes.
Guests at the event dressed in black and white attire and enjoyed a six-course meal prepared by Moraine Park Culinary Arts students and faculty. They also had the opportunity to enjoy entertainment by local talent, bid on auction items, and try their luck at the event’s popular wine-cork pull and heads-or-tails 50/50 raffle. Take a look at photos from the event below. Continue reading

The upcoming class of 2017 Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) students are entering a field that is exploding with opportunity! One of our students, Crystal Smith, is excited to begin her career in laboratory medicine. She chose our program after completing the phlebotomy certificate program at Moraine Park Technical College. After she enrolled in the phlebotomy course, she learned about the MLT program and decided to pursue a degree in MLT.
“I loved science and I wanted to be the one in the lab who tested the samples and was able to get answers from testing bodily fluids and other specimen. I knew that this was my destiny and I had to apply to the MLT Program,” Crystal said.
And that destiny is already well into motion! Continue reading
