The Wisconsin Technical College System District Boards Association honored the journalistic excellence of Insight Publications by recently awarding them with the 2011 Media Award. Selected from nine other nominated publications, Insight was chosen because of their continuous support for Moraine Park and technical education.
Insight’s winning article, Partnerships Power Performance, was featured in the November 2010 issue. The article looks at the relationship that manufacturing companies create with technical colleges in order to upgrade their workforce. Insight is a business-to-business publication that connects business and people in the NEW North. The magazine is mailed every month directly to more than 14,500 business owners and executives in all 18 counties of Northeast Wisconsin, and is available at chambers of commerce offices, visitors bureaus and other key locations regionwide.
“We are grateful to Insight for valuing Moraine Park and giving our College the opportunity to discuss the importance of these partnerships to a larger audience,” said Moraine Park President Sheila Ruhland.
Insight has been working collaboratively with all four of the NEW North’s technical colleges: Moraine Park, Fox Valley, Lakeshore and Northeast Wisconsin. The publication consistently spreads a positive message for career and technical education.
“We at Insight Publications are excited and honored to win this award,” said MaryBeth Matzek, news editor. “Our mission is to connect businesses and individuals in the NEW North and this article was a great example of how we do that — by featuring success stories that show how area businesses and technical colleges come together to train workers. At Insight, we are very supportive of the region’s technical colleges and the integral role they play in training the workers needed by businesses to succeed.”
