Moraine Park Technical College offers ongoing credit and noncredit training opportunities for business and industry to help improve their competitive edge as well as develop and retain a skilled workforce.
Listed below are courses that are available in January:
A free webinar will take place on Tuesday, Jan. 18, titled Leader vs. Manager, What It Takes to Lead in a Lean Environment.
A Finance Essentials class will be held Wednesday, Jan. 19, from 8 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. at the Fond du Lac campus. The class will provide an overview of the basics of finance in business, covering financial management and ethics, reports and documents, and the role of federal government. Cost is $225 per person; this covers the cost of materials and refreshments.
What Good Managers Do: The First 100 Days course will give new managers the basics of effective management for the first 100 days on the job. The class will discuss how new managers can step forward and assume their new responsibilities with confidence. The class will be held Thursday, Jan. 20, from 4 until 7 p.m. at the Hartford Area Development Corporation, located on 935 West State Street. The cost to attend is $99; this includes materials.
Moraine Park has partnered with ShopWare, Inc., to provide short-term Mastercam software training opportunities at our Applied Manufacturing Technology Center (AMTC) at the West Bend campus. Classes include Introduction to Mastercam X4, Mastercam Basic Mill and Manufacturing Skill Standards Council (MSSC). For more information or to register, visit shopwareinc.com. Forklift Safety explores the fundamentals of forklift operation in the workplace. Certification is available upon completion of the eight-hour training on the following dates: Tuesday, Jan. 11, from 7:45 a.m. until 4 p.m. or Saturday, March 5, from 7:45 a.m. until 4 p.m. at the Fond du Lac campus. Cost is $60 per person and includes the instruction book.
OSHA 10- 1910 General Industry fulfills the requirements for the OSHA 10-hour Outreach Training for General Industry. Students will receive an OSHA 10 card to document successful completion. Classes will be held at the Fond du Lac campus on Thursday, Jan. 27, from 7:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. (part one) and Friday, Feb. 11, from 7:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. (part two). Cost is $265 per person—this includes materials.
