Spring classes begin Jan. 24

Moraine Park Technical College’s Fond du Lac campus was filled with fresh faces during New Student Orientation, held Jan. 12. In preparation for the first day of classes on Jan. 24, students went on campus tours, had their ID photo taken, received information on academic advising, heard presentations from campus service providers, registered for courses and listened to a student panel.

Chris Kurkowski, of West Bend, shared his thoughts on starting college at Moraine Park after visiting with a couple campus service providers. “I’m really looking forward to getting started in the Criminal Justice program,” Kurkowski said, “I’ll be seeing the rest of campus and getting more acquainted with the program before classes start.”  Kurkowski will be traveling between the West Bend and Fond du Lac campuses for classes.

Tables for services provided were set up as a one-stop-shop for students at the orientation. Students could ask faculty and staff members about careers, tutoring, library services, student employment, non traditional occupations and admissions information.

To further welcome new and continuing students, faculty, staff and community members, each Moraine Park campus will hold a welcome lunch featuring comedian Lucas Bohn. Everyone is welcome to attend the free event. Fond du Lac’s lunch will be held Monday, Jan. 24; Beaver Dam’s on Tuesday, Jan. 25; and West Bend’s on Wednesday, Jan. 26.
