Lowell Prill, a recent retiree and advocate of lifelong learning, was sworn in as the newest member of the Moraine Park Technical College District Board, July 11. A resident of Alto, Prill will serve a three-year term as one of the three Additional Members on the board, which is comprised of nine individuals in total.
Prill is recently out of retirement from Alliance Laundry Systems (formally Speed Queen Co.) in Ripon, where he worked for forty years in the quality control department and later in customer service. Prill served on the Board of Education in the Waupun School District for 18 years and spent six years on the Board of Control for CESA 6, taking part in interviewing and selecting administrators and principals on both boards.
Always a strong advocate for technical education, Prill is looking forward to becoming more involved with Moraine Park. “Students at Moraine Park learn by doing – it’s that hands-on education that I am proud to now be a part of,” said Prill. “Moraine Park provides a bridge to the future for students who attend. They gain valuable skills to be successful in today’s workforce.”
Prill and his wife Janice have been married for forty years and have two daughters and five grandchildren. Prill is also involved in church and other community activities.
Serving the community since 1912, Moraine Park has campuses in Beaver Dam, Fond du Lac and West Bend and is one of 16 colleges that make up Wisconsin’s technical colleges. Moraine Park offers more than 100 associate of applied science degrees, technical diplomas, apprenticeships and certificates delivered in a variety of formats — classroom, online and blended. Training and technical assistance for businesses are also offered. For more information about Moraine Park, visit morainepark.edu.
