Moraine Park offers business training in August

Moraine Park Technical College offers ongoing credit and noncredit training opportunities for business and industry to help improve their competitive edge as well as develop and retain a skilled workforce.

Listed here are courses that are available in August:
Microsoft Word 2007 – Level 2: Thursday, Aug. 5, 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Room O-107.1, Fond du Lac campus. Create more complex documents in Word 2007 using customized lists, tables, charts and graphics to add pizzazz. Styles/themes, picture modification, customized graphics and templates will be covered. Cost is $199 per person, which includes materials and lunch.

Introduction to OSHA: Wednesday, Aug. 11, 5 to 9 p.m., Room B-129, Fond du Lac campus. Covers the origin of OSHA, the interpretation of the OSHA act, employer and employee rights, the General Duty Clause, recordkeeping requirements, inspections/citations and penalties, general safety provisions and more. Cost is $135 per person, which includes materials.

The XYZs of Accounting – Part 1: Thursday, Aug. 19, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Room L-141, West Bend campus. Designed for non-accountants, this session covers basic accounting principles. Cost is $267 per person, which includes a book, materials and refreshments.

Green Belt Certification: Aug. 25-27, Sept. 22-23, Oct. 20-21, Nov. 17-18 and Dec. 15-16, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Room T-105, West Bend campus. The Wisconsin Technical College System Green Belt Certification takes your employees to the next level of training in the Six Sigma philosophy. Included are 88 hours of classroom training and five hours of individualized coaching. Participants will apply the skills and tools learned to their workplace project. (This is a prerequisite for the Six Sigma Black Belt completion program.) Cost is $3,500 per person, which includes MiniTab software, a book, materials, lunch and refreshments.

In addition to classroom courses, Moraine Park offers a variety of online courses in partnership with ed2go® Learn More, a division of Thomson™, that can be taken from your home or office at times that are convenient for you.
