Moraine Park Technical College students got into the spirit of giving this holiday season with several clubs and the Student Senates collecting food, clothing, toys and money for families who are less fortunate.

At Moraine Park's Beaver Dam campus, the Student Senate collected donations from students and staff for the Dodge County Food Pantry and Clothes for Kids. Members of the Electrical Power Distribution Club volunteered to ring bells for the Salvation Army in Beaver Dam, collecting a total of $1,633.

The Fond du Lac campus Student Senate and the Salvation Army of Fond du Lac teamed up for a sock drive and collected enough socks to help keep 675 pairs of feet warm this winter. Socks were collected for children, women and men, and students, staff and the general public were invited to donate. Also, the Moraine Park Culinary Arts Club collected donations for Toys for Tots.

The West Bend campus had a Giving Tree decorated with ornaments that featured wish items for families in need, including toys for children. Eight families, with a total of 22 children, had a nicer Christmas thanks to Moraine Park students and staff. Two of the families were assisted specifically by the Chiropractic Technician Club and the Student Nurses Association.
