Public invited to Moraine Park January events

Moraine Park Technical College will be offering lunch, entertainment, a Martin Luther King Jr. Day observance and a therapy-animal presentation during several January events that are open to the general public.

Singer-songwriter Nick Motil will give an acoustic performance on the Fond du Lac campus during Moraine Park’s Welcome Back Lunch on Tuesday, Jan. 23, which kicks off the spring semester, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Cyber Center cafeteria. Motil will also perform on Monday, Jan. 22, at the Beaver Dam campus and on Jan. 24 at the West Bend campus.

On Wednesday, Jan. 24, comedian Eric “Elmo” O’Shea will serve up laughs while Moraine Park serves up lunch from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Fond du Lac campus.

A Martin Luther King Jr. luncheon will take place on the Fond du Lac campus on Monday, Jan. 29, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The movie Separate But Equal will be shown.

A Lunch and Learn session on Wednesday, Jan. 31, will feature a visit from Madison-based PAWWS to Heal founder Toni Schriver, RVT, and some of the PAWWS therapy animals. Donations will be taken at the door to support the organization’s work. This event will be held in Room A-102 on the Fond du Lac campus from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

There is no cost to the public to attend these events; those who wish to buy lunch at each event may do so for $6 per person. For more information on events at the Fond du Lac campus, call Adam Ninmann at 920-924-3101.
