A progressive folk duo and a country singer will provide lunch-hour entertainment at Moraine Park Technical College’s Fond du Lac campus.

Storyhill will perform on Thursday, Feb. 8, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The singer/songwriter acoustic duo of Chris Cunningham and John Hermanson features airtight harmonies and relevant, inspiring folk music in the vein of Simon & Garfunkel and Loggins & Messina. Over the past 15 years, Storyhill has sold more than 50,000 copies of their 12 albums. Recently signed by national label Red House Records, Storyhill will release a self-titled CD in February as their first Red House project.

Singer Jason DeShaw will bring some country to Valentine’s Day when he performs on campus on Wednesday, Feb. 14, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. DeShaw has entertained at colleges and county fairs around the U.S and has opened for Pam Tillis, Little Big Town, Wade Hayes and Brian White. His 14-song CD of original music, The Country Way, sold out by the hundreds upon its release. In 2004, he recorded and released a new album of originals entitled Ten Miles 2 Go. DeShaw blends traditional country with his own new sound.

Sponsored by the Fond du Lac campus Student Senate, both events are open to the public. There is no cost to attend the performances. Community members may purchase lunch for $6 per person. For more information, call Adam Ninmann, student involvement specialist, at 920-924-3101.
