Play an 18-hole round of golf at Carnoustie Golf Links in Scotland – without spending big bucks on airfare – and help the Moraine Park Foundation provide scholarships to students at Moraine Park Technical College.

The Phantom British Open Golf Outing will take place on Thursday, March 29, from 6 to 10 p.m. at Whispering Springs Golf Club in Fond du Lac to raise money for scholarships.

Take the Carnoustie tour from the comfort of your chair in the Whispering Springs clubhouse. Shoot 18 holes by drawing scores from range ball baskets. Purchase Mulligans or have the pro take your shot.

The entry fee is $25 per person. Early ticket purchase is encouraged as tee times are limited to 100. For reservations, call Debbie at 920-924-3263. Tickets are also available at Whispering Springs, Wegner Office Supply and Moraine Park’s reception desks.

In addition to the phantom golf, the event features door prizes, 50-50 raffles, betting holes and a silent auction. Four prizes will be awarded, each a pair of tickets to the July 2007 U.S. Senior Open at Whistling Straits in Kohler. A fifth prize consists of golf for four at Whispering Springs.

Silent auction prizes include two autographed hole flags from Carnoustie Golf Links (signatures include Nick O’Hern, K.J. Choi, Tim Herron, Steve Stricker and others); a $200 gift card for Open Road Harley-Davidson; a basket of British beers; a basket of Carnoustie Golf Links logo items; and a basket of St. Andrews Links logo items. Proxy bids will be accepted prior to March 29. Call Debbie at 920-924-3263.

All proceeds will benefit the Moraine Park Foundation, Inc. For more information, visit www.morainepark.edu/foundation.
