Soon 1,050 members of the Class of 2007 from Moraine Park Technical College’s Beaver Dam, Fond du Lac and West Bend campuses will set off to live their class motto and “make opportunities happen.”
Moraine Park Technical College President Dr. Gayle Hytrek will preside over the College’s commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 19, at 10 a.m. in the Field House at Fond du Lac High School.
Of the graduate candidates, 452 will receive associate degrees, 485 will receive technical diplomas and 113 will receive program certificates.
A student senate representative from each of Moraine Park’s three campuses will address their fellow students and guests. These students are Jasmine Duarte, Supervisory Management program, Beaver Dam campus; Laurie Schneider, Administrative Assistant program, Fond du Lac campus; and Stephanie Larson, Instructional Assistant program, West Bend campus.
A special award will be presented to Moraine Park’s 2007-08 Distinguished Alumnus of the Year, M. Kathleen Murphy, RN, MSN, APRN-BC. Murphy is a 1985 graduate of the College’s Nursing program and the health services coordinator for the Milwaukee Public School System.
Dr. Hytrek will preside over the ceremony with diplomas and degrees presented by Moraine Park District Board chairperson Lisa Mader and vice chairperson Marty Mittelstadt.
The graduation processional will be led by bagpiper Gina Crossley, with the ceremonial music performed by Brassination, a brass quintet from the Fond du Lac area. Shady Grove, also from the Fond du Lac area, will provide the pre-ceremonial music. A reception immediately following the ceremony will be held at the high school.
