Moraine Park kicks off fall semester with comedy and concerts

Each of Moraine Park Technical College’s campuses in Beaver Dam, Fond du Lac and West Bend has
scheduled a new round of lunch-hour activities to kick off the start of the fall semester.

 

The general public is invited to join Moraine Park students and staff during these events:

 

Beaver Dam campus: Comedian Rik Roberts and lunch, Tuesday, Aug. 28, 11:30 a.m. to
12:30 p.m. in the Commons. The Nashville humorist serves up good, clean comedy with a little Southern flavor.

Fond du Lac campus: Bascom Hill, a pop/rock band that originated in Madison, Tuesday, Aug. 28, 11:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Cyber Center cafeteria. Lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. For more information, contact Adam Ninmann at 920-924-3101.

 

Also at Fond du Lac: Comedian Pete Lee, Wednesday, Aug. 29, 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Lee grew up in Janesville and is a regular on the Bob and Tom radio show. Lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

 

West Bend campus: Bascom Hill and lunch, Thursday, Aug. 30, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the courtyard. For more information, contact Bradley Mitchell at 262-335-5743.

 

For each event, the entertainment is free and lunch can be purchased by community members for
$5 per meal.

 

A comedy show and concert are scheduled in September. Comedian Daniel Kinno will perform during the lunch hour on the Fond du Lac campus Monday, Sept. 10, and the Beaver Dam campus Wednesday, Sept. 12, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. On Sept. 13, classical and folk/rock musician Julie Moffitt will perform during a coffeehouse concert at Moraine Park’s West Bend campus from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. These events are also $5 per meal for the general public or free for the show alone.
