Moraine Park to offer Spanish for Retail Sales

Moraine Park Technical College will offer a course on Spanish for Retail Sales, designed for non-Spanish speaking retail sales people who interact with Spanish-speaking customers. 

Upon completion of the course, participants will be able to use Spanish to greet customers and clients; express and receive dollar amounts; cash checks; make welfare card withdrawals; assist customers with the purchase of groceries, convenience store items, gas, alcohol and/or tobacco; help the customer on the floor; and sell money orders, wire money and conduct routine security tasks.

A manual with two CDs will be part of the instructional material. Modeling, role-playing, simulations and situation cards will also be used.

Spanish for Retail Sales, course 140-458-001, will run from Wednesday, Oct. 31, through Wednesday, Dec. 12. It will take place from 6 to 8:45 p.m. in Room O-214 on the Fond du Lac campus at 235 N. National Ave. The cost is $40.82 for the course and $22.95 plus tax for the manual, which can be purchased at the campus bookstore.
