Moraine Park Technical College's Fond du Lac campus and the Salvation Army of Fond du Lac have partnered again this year for a holiday sock drive, with the theme “Gifts from the Heart.” All types of new socks will be collected – babies’, children’s, women’s and men’s, made of cotton or wool – from now through Thursday, Dec. 13.
A small Christmas tree and a collection bin have been set up in the Cyber Center cafeteria at Moraine Park by the Fond du Lac campus Student Senate. Another drop-off bin is located near the Registration desk. Last year’s sock drive netted 500 pairs of socks for the Salvation Army, and the goal is to beat that number this year and help even more individuals and families keep their feet warm this winter.
The general public is welcome to donate socks. Visitors may use the O-2 entrance to drop socks off between
7:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Monday through Friday in the Cyber Center bin, or the C-1 entrance for the Registration bin.
