Moraine Park Technical College students recently took part in the annual state competition of the Wisconsin Marketing & Management Association (WMMA), held March 6-8 in Madison.
The WMMA/Delta Epsilon Chi is a collegiate division of DECA, an association of marketing students. The Moraine Park students were accompanied by their advisor, Moraine Park Marketing Instructor Robin Rodee-Schneider, as they and other students from throughout the state tested their marketing skills in a variety of categories.
Jeremy Sarnowski took first place in the written exam for Hospitality and was a runner-up for the case studies, while Shelly Puckhaber took third place for the written exam and case study in Retail Management; both are from West Bend. Aaron Christman of Beaver Dam was a runner-up in Marketing Management. Travis Bryant from Fillmore was a runner-up in both the case study and written exam in Retail Management. Kelly Brumley of Randolph took first place in Entrepreneurship for both the written exam and her prepared presentation. Laura Husnick from Fond du Lac was a runner-up for her written exam and took third place for the case study in Travel and Tourism. Angela Zurn from Mayville took third place for the written exam and was a runner-up for the case study in Human Resources. Kayla Navis of Waupun was a runner-up for Sales Representative. Kim Albrecht of Waupun took second place in the written exam for Advertising Campaign. Also attending the state event was Chris Lewandowski of Hubertus, who competed in Marketing Management.
Nine students will be going on to Atlanta, Georgia, for the national competition April 11-15.
