Moraine Park campus libraries offer National Library Week activities

The libraries at the Moraine Park Technical College campuses in Beaver Dam, Fond du Lac and West Bend will celebrate National Library Week April 14-18.

The American Library Association, along with libraries around the world, is celebrating 50 years of National Library Week with the theme of “Join the Circle of Knowledge @ Your Library.”

Community members are invited to join in several activities at their local campus library. Each one is sponsoring a contest. Stop in and fill out an entry form for a chance to win a gift card to Barnes and Noble, the Moraine Park campus bookstores, Moraine Park’s Techniques Salon and Spa, or Park Terrace cuisine by culinary arts students.

Visitors can also learn about avatars (a graphical image used to represent you when interacting with others through computers) and RSS feeds (Web feed formats used with news, podcasts and blogs), and how to set them up.

A Book Swap will take place during the week as well – bring in a book that you no longer want, and choose a book to take home. Moraine Park programs will be highlighted with displays of books and DVDs on culinary arts, corrections and other program-related topics. A gardening display will also be featured.
