Moraine Park Technical College offers ongoing credit and noncredit training opportunities for business and industry to help improve their competitive edge as well as develop and retain a skilled workforce.
Several courses are scheduled for December and January, including:
Overview of Office 2007: Friday, Dec. 5, 8:30–11:30 a.m., Room L-110, West Bend campus, and Friday, Dec. 12, 8:30-11:30 a.m., Room O-106, Fond du Lac campus. Explore the enhancements of Access, Excel, PowerPoint and Word. Cost is $79 per person, which includes materials.
Structural Welding Certification Exams: Saturday, Dec. 6, 8 a.m.–4 p.m., Room K-401, Beaver Dam campus. Become certified in all positions and gages of steel plate using SMAW (stick) electrodes. Special tests of different welding processes (GMAW, FCAW, etc.) can also be taken. Cost is $150 per person.
Strategy Development for the Nonprofit Manager: Thursday, Dec. 11, 8–10 a.m., Room O-103, Fond du Lac campus. Learn how to develop measurable and obtainable goals and other techniques to develop a strategic position for your nonprofit organization. Cost is $55 per person, which includes materials and refreshments.
Forklift Safety: Tuesday, Jan. 13, 7:45 a.m. –4 p.m., Room B-109, Fond du Lac campus. Explores the fundamentals and safe practices of forklift operation in the workplace. Certification is available upon completion of the eight-hour training. Cost is $60 per person, which includes a book.
Green Belt Certification: Jan. 21-23, Feb. 4-5, March 4-5, April 1-2 and April 29-30, 8 a.m. –5 p.m., location TBD. Includes 88 hours of classroom training and five hours of individualized coaching on your project. This is a prerequisite for the Six Sigma Black Belt completion program. Cost is $3,500 per person, which includes MiniTab software, book, materials, lunch and refreshments.
