Moraine Park campuses offer February events, including blood drives

Music, comedy and a movie are the featured entertainment at Moraine Park Technical College’s campuses in February. Also scheduled are a Feb. 17 blood drive at the West Bend campus, and another on Feb. 25 at the Fond du Lac campus.

 

West Bend campus: On Tuesday, Feb. 17, the BloodCenter of Wisconsin will hold a blood drive from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the cafeteria. Register by calling 262-335-5743, or e-mail bmitchell@morainepark.edu. Walk-ins are also welcome.

 

Patchwork (a.k.a. Jeremiah Nelson) is the featured performer for the Coffeehouse Concert on Monday, Feb. 23, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the cafeteria. His indie-rock music is reminiscent of the simple beauty of the Beatles. The general public may purchase food and beverages at cost. Beaver Dam campus: Comedian/musician Johnny Walker will perform in the commons on Wednesday, Feb. 25, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Based out of Los Angeles, Walker is a regular at the Hollywood Improv and Laugh Factory and his songs have been on All Comedy Radio, National Public Radio, Air America and XM Radio. He blends traditional stand-up comedy with parody and original songs. The general public may purchase lunch for $5 per meal. Fond du Lac campus: Two events are taking place on Wednesday, Feb. 25. The BloodCenter of Wisconsin will hold a blood drive from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Room A-102. Register by calling 920-924-3101, or e-mail aninmann@morainepark.edu.
