Moraine Park Technical College offers ongoing credit and noncredit training opportunities for business and industry to help improve their competitive edge as well as develop and retain a skilled workforce.
Listed here are a few of the courses that are available in March:
Quickbooks Pro 2008 – Level 2: Wednesdays, March 4 and 11, 12:30 to 4:30 p.m., Room K-207, Beaver Dam campus. Learn about editing, customizing, and tracking inventory; sales tax issues; and payroll-related functions. Quickbooks Pro 2008 – Level 1 or previous Quickbook experience is recommended. Cost is $229 per person, which includes materials and refreshments.
Lean Enterprise/Six Sigma Executive Informational Briefing: Thursday, March 12, 8:30 to 10:30 a.m., location to be determined. Geared toward managers who will plan, control and a Lean Enterprise/Six Sigma program, this session covers the relationship of Lean Enterprise/Six Sigma to corporate strategies, issues of implementation, a basic overview of the methodology and tools, and an introduction to training programs. Microsoft Excel 2007 – Level 1: Thursday, March 12, 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Room O-107.1, Fond du Lac campus. Activities are focused on planning, creating and modifying a spreadsheet with emphasis on using calculations, formatting and printing. Cost is $189 per person, which includes materials, refreshments and lunch.
Introduction to Mastercam X2: Monday and Tuesday, March 16-17, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Room T-205, West Bend campus. Covers all aspects of operation, system orientation, operator interface, configuration, 2D geometry construction, dimensioning and CAD file conversion. Also useful for V9 users who would like to become familiar with X and X2. Cost is $675 per person, which includes materials.
OSHA 10-Hour Voluntary Compliance for General Industry: Tuesdays, March 17 and 24, 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Room O-103, Fond du Lac campus. Learn how to read and use the Code of Federal Regulations and understand compliance programs and procedures required in the workplace. Cost is $269 per person, which includes materials and refreshments.
Visualized Information With Visio: Tuesday, March 17, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., Room C-129, Fond du Lac campus. Explore tools for illustrating block diagrams, office layouts, data charts, flowcharts, work process maps and more. Learn how to integrate diagrams into documents, presentations and publications. Cost is $109 per person, which includes materials and refreshments.
Lean Enterprise Certificate Program: Thursdays, March 19, April 2, 16 and 30, May 14 and 28, and June 11, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Applied Manufacturing Technology Center, West Bend campus. Learn an effective and cost-efficient way to train your staff to use Lean tools to identify and drive waste out of your operation. For those completing the certificate series, a workplace project will reinforce application in the workplace. Series cost is $2,100 for all seven sessions. Individual sessions are $300 per participant. Cost includes materials, lunch and refreshments.
