Building on the success of previous years, the Moraine Park Foundation will hold its third annual Phantom Golf event on Thursday, March 19, marking the U.S. Open.

The real 2009 U.S. Open Championship will take place June 15-21 at Bethpage State Park’s Black Course in Farmingdale, New York. On March 19, Phantom U.S. Open golfers will “play” 18 holes of the Black Course from the comfort of their chair at Schmitty’s Oar House Bar & Grill in Fond du Lac. Sponsored in part by Schmitty’s, the event is a scholarship fundraiser for Moraine Park Technical College students.

Registration begins at 6 p.m., with the game getting under way at 6:30 p.m. Participants “shoot” 18 holes by drawing scores from marked range balls, and can purchase mulligans or have the pro take their shot. Top prizes include dinner packages, U.S. Open merchandise, concert tickets and rounds of golf. There will also be a 50-50 raffle and a skins game. Food will be served, with a cash bar available.

The entry fee is $25 per person. Purchase your ticket/reservation at Schmitty’s or call Debbie at 920-924-3263 or e-mail dmartin@morainepark.edu.

All proceeds will benefit the Moraine Park Foundation, Inc. For more information about the Foundation, visit www.morainepark.edu/foundation.
