The Moraine Park Association for Career and Technical Education (MPACTE) was named Local of the Year during the recent Wisconsin Association for Career and Technical Education (WACTE) 73rd Annual Conference.
The WACTE conference hosted the state awards program for the Wisconsin Technical College System. This is the second year in a row that MPACTE won Local of the Year. This award is based on member activities, professional development opportunities, legislative activities and Career and Technical Education Month events.
Gloria Arenz, Moraine Park instructional technology computer specialist, received the WACTE Professional Excellence – Associate Member Award. She also received the local version of that award on Feb. 23 during (MPACTE) Awards ceremony. The Associate Member Award is given to members who are office, technical, paraprofessional or custodial staff who have made a significant contribution to career and technical education.
The Moraine Park Association for Career and Technical Education comprises 93 members, bringing together support staff, faculty and administration. MPACTE is the local chapter of the WACTE, which unites individuals involved in career and technical education, provides professional development, encourages leadership in the professional arena, and promotes innovative change to enhance lifelong learning.
