Thanks to a high school scholarship award program from the Moraine Park Foundation, 13 graduating seniors will receive financial assistance for their education at Moraine Park Technical College this fall.
The students represent 13 of the Moraine Park District’s 27 high schools and will each receive a $400 general scholarship. The students, along with their hometowns and high schools, include Alexander Amend of Waupun, Waupun High School; Jessica Bachhuber of Mayville, Mayville High School; Jordan Berghammer of Markesan, Markesan High School; Jennifer Crivello of Jackson, West Bend West High School; Melinda Gozdziewski of Fond du Lac, Fond du Lac High School; Nicholas Kuik of Fond du Lac, Oakfield High School; Jacob Matznick of Mt. Calvary, Campbellsport High School; Michael Poetter of Beaver Dam, Beaver Dam High School; Courtney Schmidt of Princeton, Princeton High School; Emily Schoofs of West Bend, West Bend East High School; Courtney Schuett of Juneau, Dodgeland High School; Julia Vinz of Horicon, Horicon High School; and Tyler Wuest of Fond du Lac, Winnebago Lutheran Academy.
The Moraine Park Foundation also has general and designated scholarships available. Designated scholarships have some restrictions and are based on donations received from individuals, business and industry, community organizations and other foundations. In 2008-09, more than 135 scholarships were awarded for a total of more than $115,000; scholarship amounts ranged from $250 to $2,000.The 2009-10 application deadline is June 22.
