Moraine Park Technical College offers ongoing credit and noncredit training opportunities for business and industry to help improve their competitive edge as well as develop and retain a skilled workforce.
Listed here are a few of the courses that are available in May:
Structural Welding Certification Exams: Saturday, May 2, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Room K-401, Beaver Dam campus. Welders who pass these exams are certified in all positions and gages of steel plate using SMAW (stick) electrodes. Special tests of different welding processes (GMAW, FCAW, etc.) can also be taken. Cost is $150 per person.
Quickbooks Pro 2008 – Level 2: Mondays, May 4 and 11, 12:30 to 4:30 p.m., Room O-107.1, Fond du Lac campus. This intermediate course will sort through editing, customizing and tracking inventory; sales-tax issues; and payroll-related functions (employees, taxes, printing checks and 1099s). Quickbooks Pro 2008 – Level 1 or previous Quickbooks experience is recommended. Cost is $229 per person, which includes materials and refreshments.
Formulating Your Policies and Procedures: Wednesday, May 6, 12:30 to 4:30 p.m., Room O-107.1, Fond du Lac campus. Learn how to create policies and procedures, review current ones and create a framework to document them. Cost is $99 per person, which includes materials and refreshments.
Microsoft Access 2007 – Level 2: Thursday, May 7, 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Room O-107.1, Fond du Lac campus. Create more consistent data and customize database components in Microsoft Access 2007. Learn how to share Access data with other applications. Cost is $189 per person, which includes materials, refreshments and lunch.
DOD EMALL: Wednesday, May 20, 9 to 11:30 a.m., Room T-101, West Bend campus. DOD EMALL is an Internet-based marketplace that provides military and other customers with a one-stop shopping experience to acquire goods and services. EMALL has more than 150 commercial catalogs featuring more than 12 million items. Learn how to get your products and services in. Cost is $30 per person.
Forklift Safety: Thursday, May 21, 7:45 a.m. to 4 p.m., Room B-109, Fond du Lac campus. Explore the fundamentals of forklift operation, including factors that affect safe operation for the operator, the load, the forklift and the physical environment. Certification is available upon completion. Cost is $60 per person, which includes a book.
