by admin28. April 2009 19:00Moraine Park Technical College's student Corrections Club is sponsoring a Community Awareness Evening on Thursday, May 14, from 6 to 8 p.m. in Room A-112 at the Fond du Lac campus. This event is open to community members.
Nichole Hall of the Wisconsin Department of Corrections will present "Sex Offender Dynamics, Sex Offender Registration & Community Notification" from 6 to 7 p.m.
Angel Gilbertson, client advocate/volunteer coordinator, and Kelly Webb, prevention educator, with ASTOP Inc. will present "Personal & Family Safety" and "Protective Behaviors” from 7 to 8 p.m. ASTOP will also provide information on services and advocacy for victims of sexual assault.
The Corrections Club will also hold a bake sale and provide child care for parents who attend the presentations.
