Moraine Park marketing students place at national competition

Four Moraine Park Technical College Marketing program students were finalists at the annual DECA International Career Development Conference held in Anaheim, Calif., in late April.

 The opening ceremony for the DECA conference kicked off at Universal Studios.

Mike Behn of West Bend and Melissa MacDonald of Campbellsport were national finalists in the Advertising Campaign competition. C.J. Lewandowski of Hubertus was a finalist in Financial Services, while Shelly Puckhaber of Germantown was a finalist in Retail Management.


Other Moraine Park students who competed at DECA in various categories were Brittany Anderson of Malone, Travel & Tourism; Amy Goebel of Fond du Lac, Sales Representative; Mandie Finley of Ripon, Design Presentation; Tiffany Knoespel of Mt. Calvary, Hospitality; Dion Meux of Fond du Lac, Retail Management; and Cody Moore of Mayville and Kayla Rieder of Fond du Lac, National Management Institute.


The marketing students are members of the Moraine Park chapter of Delta Epsilon Chi (DEX), the collegiate division of DECA. They attended the Wisconsin Marketing and Management Association/DEX state competition held in March, earning the right to represent Wisconsin at the international competition in April.


DECA is an international association of high school and college students studying marketing, management and entrepreneurship. It operates in all 50 states, Puerto Rico, Guam, Canada, Mexico and Germany.
