It’s time to hit the road for the ladies-only Pink Metal Ride, coming up on Saturday, June 6. Join Open Road Harley-Davidson of Fond du Lac for a scenic 70-mile ride to Campbellsport through the beautiful Kettle Moraine, rain or shine.
Registration runs from 9 to 11 a.m. at Open Road Harley-Davidson, with riders departing at 11:30 a.m. sharp. The $20 registration fee includes lunch. Riders can also purchase a chance to win raffle prizes.
All female motorcycle riders are welcome. Women who don’t ride but would like to join in the fun are invited to tag along by car. A lunch stop is planned at King Pin Lanes in Campbellsport, followed by activities at Open Road Harley-Davidson when the riders return to Fond du Lac. Quick & Smart Photography will offer bike and group portraits for purchase, and refreshing root-beer floats will be served.
Open Road Harley-Davidson of Fond du Lac hosted its inaugural women’s Pink Metal Ride last June with 54 riders. The ride was inspired by Lori Thiel, co-owner of Open Road, to empower and enhance the lives of women through education and riding. Culver’s of Fond du Lac, Moraine Park Technical College and Women on Wheels helped launch the event. Proceeds from the ride provided a scholarship for Moraine Park student Nikki Stevens of Fond du Lac, and this year’s ride will also benefit a nontraditional female student age 25 or older enrolled at Moraine Park.
