After three years of dedicated service on the Moraine Park Technical College District Board, Dorreen Dembski of West Bend is leaving her board seat. She was appointed on July 1, 2006, representing the eastern portion of the Moraine Park District as an employee member.
With her term expired, she was ineligible to be reappointed due to a recent employment change. Leaving the Moraine Park board was bittersweet, she said. “I was honored to serve on the Moraine Park board and if it weren't for my recent career change, I would have sought reappointment. I hope all my decisions reflected that students were the center of my deliberations. My thanks to the current board and leadership team for their hard work and dedication, and thank you to the community for the opportunity to serve.” She wishes the future board much success.
Moraine Park President Gayle Hytrek presented Dembski with a Resolution of Appreciation plaque on behalf of the board and thanked her for her contributions. “We appreciate Dorreen’s dedication to and support of Moraine Park and technical education,” said Dr. Hytrek.
During her term of office, Dembski was active in the Wisconsin Technical College District Boards Association, most recently serving on the Marketing/Public Relations and Awards Committee. She also promoted technical and adult education to help meet the educational and training needs of the Moraine Park District’s citizens.
Dembski’s term ends June 30. Robb Steiner of West Bend will be sworn in at the July meeting.
