Moraine Park Technical College offers ongoing credit and noncredit training opportunities for business and industry to help improve their competitive edge as well as develop and retain a skilled workforce.
Listed here are a few of the courses that are available in August:
Selling Through Stellar Service: Mondays, Aug. 3, 10 and 17, 12:30 to 4:30 p.m., Room O-104, Fond du Lac campus. Delivered in language and context appropriate for those who feel they're not really salespeople, this workshop helps organizations save money by solving problems better and faster, and make money through cross-selling and up-selling. The two-part training covers guiding and expanding customer conversations. Cost is $479 per person, which includes materials and refreshments.
Mastercam Basic Mill: Wednesday and Thursday, Aug. 5 and 6, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Room T-205, West Bend campus. Designed for new Mastercam users who have completed Introduction to Mastercam X3, this course covers tool and material libraries as well as 2 ½ axis (Mill Level 1) machining functions including contouring, pocketing, drilling, c-hooks, customization and verification. Cost is $675 per person, which includes materials.
Industrial Programmable Logic Controllers 1: Monday-Thursday, Aug. 10-13, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Room B-106, Fond du Lac campus. Explore the basics of a PLC and design basic ladder logic programs. An introduction to human machine interface (HMI) screens is included. Cost is $815 per person, which includes materials.
Green Belt Certification: 11 sessions, Aug. 25 through Dec. 17, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Room T-105, West Bend campus. Get to the next level of training in the Six Sigma philosophy!This program is a prerequisite for the Six Sigma Black Belt Completion Program. Bring a laptop. Cost is $3,500 per person, which includes MiniTab software, book, materials, lunch and refreshments.
Create an Offer to a Federal Government Solicitation: Tuesday, Aug. 25, 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Room A-112, Fond du Lac campus. Working as an individual or a team,create a winning offer to real government solicitations in this interactive workshop. Choose from product, service or construction solicitations issued from the federal government and try to win that contract. Cost is $40 per person.
MS Excel 2003 – Level 2: Wednesday, Aug. 26, 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Room O-106.1, Fond du Lac campus. Beyond the basics, participants will work with templates, charts, graphics and advanced formulas to enhance their spreadsheets. Cost is $189 per person, which includes materials, lunch and refreshments.
