The lunch-hour concerts, comedy and other entertainment are returning to Moraine Park Technical College with the start of the 2009-10 academic year. The week of Aug. 24 kicks off the fall semester and features several events that are open to the community.
Fond du Lac campus: A Movie of the Month will be shown Tuesday, Aug. 25, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and again from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. The general public may purchase food at each showing for $5 per meal.
A Comedy Fun Night on Friday, Aug. 28, will feature comedian Adam Ace from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. and Mission Improvable from 8:45 to 9:30 p.m. Ace’s show combines physical comedy, music, improvisation, props, stand-up comedy and audience interaction. Mission Improvable is an improv and sketch comedy act. A catered meal will be served from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. The event is free to everyone, but if you plan to attend the meal please RSVP to Adam Ninmann, Moraine Park Student Life, at 920-924-3101 or email@example.com.
Both events will take place in the Cyber Center cafeteria.
Beaver Dam campus: Comedian Adam Ace will perform on Wednesday, Aug. 26, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the commons. The public may purchase lunch for $5 per meal on a first-come, first-served basis. West Bend campus: On Wednesday, Aug. 26, join staff and students for a free concert by the reggae band Natty Nation, based out of Madison. Since 1995 Natty Nation has played around the country and abroad, earning several awards. The band will play on the patio outside the cafeteria from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Food and beverages are available at cost for the public.
