Moraine Park Technical College is partnering with the Midwest Renewable Energy Association (MREA), We Energies and Focus on Energy to host two renewable energy seminars on Saturday, Nov. 7, at the College’s West Bend campus.

Held in the Advanced Manufacturing and Technology Center, the seminars will provide homeowners and small-business owners with information on generating their own renewable energy and thus reducing the use of nonrenewable fossil fuels.

“Solar Water Heating for Your Home” takes place from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Learn how to supplement your existing water-heating system with a solar water heater. This seminar will cover the components of solar water-heating systems, the most reliable types for cold climates, where to place the system, costs and financial incentives, and how to get started.

“PV (Solar Electric) Systems for Your Home” will be offered from 1 to 3 p.m. Learn about photovoltaic (PV) systems, their components, determining the size you need, where to place the system, and costs and financial incentives. Handouts, demonstrations and a question-and-answer period are included.

Each seminar costs $15 per person. To register, go to www.the-mrea.org/we_seminars.php or call the MREA at 715-592-6595.
