Moraine Park Technical College offers ongoing credit and noncredit training opportunities for business and industry to help improve their competitive edge as well as develop and retain a skilled workforce.
Listed here are a few of the courses that are available in December:
Work Cells and Standardized Work for the Office and Factory: Tuesday, Dec. 1, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., AMTC, West Bend campus. This course is seventh in the series of Moraine Park's Lean Enterprise certificate program. Cost is $320 per person, which includes materials, lunch and refreshments.
Pivot Tables and Pivot Charts in Microsoft Excel 2003, Thursday, Dec. 3, Room O-107.1, Fond du Lac campus, and Microsoft Excel 2007, Thursday, Dec. 10, Room L-114, West Bend campus, 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Learn to use Excel 2003 or 2007 to run ad-hoc queries, conduct top-10 analyses or group data in meaningful ways to answer common business questions. Participants will work with a sales analysis simulation. A jump drive and anintroductory knowledge of Excel are required. Cost is $224 per person, which includes materials, lunch andrefreshments.
Basic Video Production: Thursday, Dec. 3, 2 to 4 p.m., Room O-106, Fond du Lac campus. Learn how to record, import, edit and export videos using Adobe Premiere. Cost is $67 per person, which includes materials.
Setup Reduction – Lean Enterprise Certificate Program: Tuesday, Dec. 8, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., AMTC, West Bend campus. This course is eighth in the series of Moraine Park's Lean Enterprise certificate program. Cost is $320 per person, which includes materials, lunch and refreshments.
Managing Respect in the Workplace: Wednesday, Dec. 9, 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., Room O-104, Fond du Lac campus. Creating and maintaining a respectful work environment begins with managers. Learn to successfully recognize, respond to and resolve issues among employees. Cost is $160 per person, which includes materials and refreshments.
Introduction to Government Contracting for Construction: Wednesday, Dec. 9, 9 to 11:30 a.m., Room T-101, West Bend campus. Explore the difference between commercial and federal construction contracts, the types of contracts and solicitation methods, and techniques for searching for opportunities and preparing a response. Cost is $30 per person.
Introduction to Mastercam X3: Monday, Dec. 14, and Tuesday, Dec. 15, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Room T-205, West Bend campus. This course covers operation, system orientation, operator interface, configuration, 2D geometry construction and dimensioning. Students draw several parts from existing prints, dimension a print and learn how to convert CAD files. Cost is $675 per person, which includes materials.
In addition to classroom courses, Moraine Park offers a variety of online courses in partnership with ed2go® Learn More, a division of Thomson™, that can be taken from your home or office at times that are convenient for you. Many courses are offered under categories that include Computers and Technology, Writing and Language, Business and Careers, Grant Writing and Nonprofit Management, Personal Enrichment and Professional Development.
