Moraine Park Technical College offers ongoing credit and noncredit training opportunities for business and industry to help improve their competitive edge as well as develop and retain a skilled workforce.
Listed here are courses that are available in January:
Industrial Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) 2: Monday through Thursday, Jan. 11-14, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Room B-106, Fond du Lac campus. Learn to install programmable controllers in a control panel; wire input and output field devices as well as industrial sensors; and set up, program and operate servo drives. Cost is $815 per person, which includes materials.
Leadership Excellence Foundational Series: Twice monthly, Jan. 12 through March 23, 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., Room O-103, Fond du Lac campus. From AchieveGlobal, this series delivers high-performance strategies to increase the personal effectiveness of employees and establish leadership skills at all levels of your organization. Cost is $889 per person, which includes materials and refreshments.
Black Belt Certification: Jan. 21-22 and Feb. 4-5 and 18-19, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Room O-103, Fond du Lac campus. If you have successfully completed the Green Belt certification and project, you are eligible for this program which includes 48 hours of classroom instruction. Cost is $1,900 per person, which includes materials, lunch and refreshments.
Green Belt Certification: January through May, starting Tuesday, Jan. 26, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Room T-105, West Bend campus. Certification includes 88 hours of classroom training and five hours of coaching on your project. Cost is $3,500 per person, which includes MiniTab software, book, materials, lunch and refreshments. A laptop is required.
Overview of Office 2007: Thursday, Jan. 28, 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Room O-107.1, Fond du Lac campus. If you are upgrading to Office 2007, this course will teach you about the enhancements, ribbons and new commands of Access, Excel, PowerPoint and Word. Cost is $199 per person, which includes materials.
Microsoft Word 2007 – Level 1: Friday, Jan. 29, 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Room K-207, Beaver Dam campus. Explore the new look of Word and examine the features to create professional letters, reports, lists and tables. Learn how to save and retrieve files, use numbered/bulleted lists, use tabs and create tables. Cost is $199 per person, which includes materials and lunch.
