Moraine Park staff honored by Career and Technical Education Association

The Moraine Park Association for Career and Technical Education (MPACTE) honored six people and an area business for their dedication and professional excellence during an awards banquet held at the Beaver Dam Country Club on Feb. 8.

 

The Moraine Park Association for Career and Technical Education (MPACTE) held its annual awards banquet Feb. 8. Four Moraine Park Technical College staff received the 2010 MPACTE Professional Excellence Award in various categories. Dr. Jonathan “Josh” Bullock, vice president of strategic advancement, was presented with the Outstanding CTE Leadership Award. Kim DeMaa, administrative assistant – financial aid, received the Outstanding Support Professional Award. The Outstanding Instructor Award went to Linda Wilke, economic and workforce development instructor, while the New Instructor Award went to Rhonda Bird-Roehrig, careers instructor.   

 

Lori Schrage, Moraine Park benefits associate, received the Rodney Pasch Leadership Award. This award, open to all Moraine Park employees, recognizes an individual who personifies the principles of character, commitment and ethics in the daily performance of their work.

 

Joan Visintainer, Basic Education instructor, received the Longevity Award. This honor is given to individuals who have been employed in career and technical education for more than 25 years and who are members of the Wisconsin Association for Career and Technical Education (WACTE).

 

The C.L. Greiber Award of Merit for Business went to Grande Cheese. This award acknowledges companies outside of the Wisconsin Technical College System that help promote and improve career and technical education in Wisconsin.

 

Moraine Park and MPACTE observe national Career and Technical Education Month in February. This year’s theme is CTE: Building Blocks for a Successful Career.  MPACTE comprises 100 members, bringing together educational support professionals, faculty and administration. It is the local chapter of WACTE, which unites individuals involved in career and technical education, provides professional development, encourages leadership in the professional arena and promotes innovative change to enhance lifelong learning.
