Listed here are courses that are available in March:
Chinese 2 for Professionals: Wednesdays, March 3 to April 7, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., Room T-117, West Bend campus. Builds on Chinese 1 and broadens cultural and conversational skills with a focus on pronunciation, vocabulary, phrases, sentences and basic grammar. Cost is $320 per person, which includes materials and refreshments.
Introduction to Telepresence/HD Video Conferencing: Thursday, March 4, 1 to 4 p.m., Room L-155, West Bend campus. Learn about this new global communication method and participate in a HD video conference. This training will discuss vendors, products, technologies and costs and will help you decide if this is the right technology for your business. Cost is $99 per person, which includes materials.
Barnga — Simulation Game for Cultural Awareness: Friday, March 12, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Room K-202, Beaver Dam campus. Addresses the invisible values we carry with us that influence our behavior when dealing with others who have different cultural norms. Heighten your self-awareness and have fun in the process. Cost is $135 per person, which includes materials, lunch and refreshments.
Introduction to Mastercam X4: Monday and Tuesday, March 15 and 16, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Room T-205, West Bend campus. Covers all aspects of operation, system orientation, operator interface, configuration, 2D geometry construction, dimensioning and converting CAD files. Cost is $675 per person, which includes materials.
Fundamentals of Press Brake Operation: Tuesday, March 16, 6 to 10 p.m., and Tuesday, March 30, 6 to 9:30 p.m., Room E-157.1, Fond du Lac campus. Learn the best techniques for precision sheet metal work and the math behind sheet metal bending while getting real experience on a press brake. This one-day, hands-on event uses curriculum developed by the Fabricators and Manufacturers Association and is geared toward new operators, engineers, designers and programmers. Cost is $249 per person, which includes materials.
Effective Business Writing: Friday, March 19, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Room O-107, Fond du Lac campus. Learn effective strategies to sharpen your writing skills by structuring your ideas logically and in a compelling way across a variety of media, including e-mail, instant messaging, letters and business proposals. Cost is $219 per person, which includes materials and refreshments.
Industrial Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) 3/Human Machine Interface (HMI): Monday through Thursday, March 22-25, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Room B-106, Fond du Lac campus. Learn to troubleshoot a machine controlled by a PLC. Participants will explore process control systems and process instrumentation, learn to tune a servo drive (PID) and develop HMI screens. Prerequisite: Industrial Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) 2.Cost is $815 per person, which includes materials.
Critical Core Performance Skills: Free Webinar, Wednesday, March 31, 12 to 1 p.m. Log into this one-hour overview of training-related topics that address workforce development needs.
