by admin5. May 2010 19:00A four-hour workshop entitled Understanding Grants and Writing Proposals will be offered at Moraine Park Technical College’s Beaver Dam campus on Wednesday, May 26.
Held from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. in Room K-201, the workshop provides an introduction to the fundamentals of grants and the grant-writing process. Participants will learn about the different types of grants and grantor agencies, where to find information on grant opportunities, methods for transforming an idea into a grant proposal, different components of a grant proposal, best practices and strategies for writing and submitting a winning proposal, how to create and use partnerships for effective program planning and development, and initial steps for implementing a successfully-funded project. Short exercises on specific grant-writing techniques will be completed in class.
