by speitz9. June 2010 10:53Dustin Pagel of Neenah, who has completed his fourth year as a Moraine Park Technical College and Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) of Wisconsin carpentry apprentice, was named ABC’s Wisconsin Apprentice of the Year for 2010 during the annual ABC graduation banquet in Wisconsin Dells May 21.

“Dustin has shown a consistent commitment to excellence in all of his classwork and this award is a fitting tribute to his four years of efforts in the ABC Carpentry Apprenticeship program at Moraine Park,” said Gary Roehrig, Moraine Park carpentry instructor.
Pagel, who is employed by Radtke Contractors in Winneconne, earned a third-place bronze medal in the carpentry competition at the 2010 ABC National Craft Championships held in San Diego, Calif., in February. Before that, he placed first in the ABC of Wisconsin Inc. State Skill Competition in December.
He is the fifth Moraine Park carpentry apprentice to receive this award. “This is an outstanding accomplishment and speaks volumes about an outstanding apprentice, a quality program and two instructors, Gary Roehrig and Gerald Schwengels, who have done an outstanding job with the students they serve,” said Jon Waldhuetter, Moraine Park dean of apprenticeships.
