Kathy Ebert, programming and design associate at Moraine Park Technical College, recently graduated from the Academy for Leadership and Development, a program of the Chair Academy which is a division of the Maricopa Community College District in Mesa, Ariz.
The year-long program advances organizational leadership and provides succession planning for leaders in post-secondary institutions. Included are on-site training; a practicum experience involving an individualized professional development plan; a mentor and coaching program; and additional leadership issues.
“The best part of the Academy for Leadership and Development is that it gave me the ability to network with other Wisconsin Technical College system and global community college professionals while continuing on my leadership journey,” said Ebert. “I now have a solid framework and foundation to build upon as I grow as both a leader and an individual in my career at MPTC.”
Topics of the leadership program include The Complex Role of the Organizational Leader, Work Behavioral Styles, Building Effective Work Teams, Strategic Planning and Scenario Thinking, Managing Conflict Productively and more. Participants are nominated by their individual colleges.
