Moraine Park Technical College Information Technology instructor Lisa Pollard, of Fond du Lac, received the Wisconsin Technical College System IT Outstanding Service Award. The award’s emphasis is recognizing outstanding teaching and contributions to the Wisconsin Technical College system Information Technology field.
“I am honored to have received this award,” said Pollard, who’s been at the college for 13 years. “It is a privilege to teach at Moraine Park and work with great students, staff and faculty locally and throughout the WTCS system."
Becoming a focal point of IT instruction at Moraine Park, Pollard strives to enhance the work environment by networking with peers and community members. She also displays a dedication for self-improvement and has completed the Wisconsin Leadership Development Institute, participated in the local community Leadership initiative, served on several college-wide committees and advises two student clubs.
Pollard leads the College’s Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) grant program through the National Science Foundation, a four-year program that provides scholarship funds to qualified students.
In the classroom, Pollard provides up-to-date training that meets workforce demands through a student operated help desk, incorporating emerging technology in the classroom, and visiting external organizations.
