Moraine Park Technical College’s Medical Transcription program provides students with a solid foundation and hands-on healthcare documentation experience translating and editing dictated and speech-recognized medical reports. Moraine Park’s Medical Transcription technical diploma was approved by the Approval Committee for Certificate Programs (ACCP) in July 2010 and was recently featured in Plexus magazine’s ‘Best of the Best’ issue.
The issue recognized 22 educational entities, including Moraine Park, as having the strongest medical transcription programs across the nation. In order to be recognized, Moraine Park had to comply with the Association for Healthcare Documentation Integrity (AHDI) model curriculum for medical transcription, maintain sound educational programming, produce competent entry-level medical transcriptionists, and assure consistency and high-quality outcomes for medical transcription education.
Moraine Park Medical Transcription Instructor Dr. Marge Spieth is very pleased with Moraine Park’s recognition in the magazine. “Being named as one of the top medical transcription programs in the nation is both an honor for MPTC and an assurance to potential students and employers as to the high-quality education and training provided in the program,” she said. Graduates of Moraine Park’s Medical Transcription program are well prepared for entry-level employment in the healthcare documentation profession.”
