Moraine Park business students bound for national competition

Moraine Park Technical College Business Professionals of America (BPA) students are Capitol-bound, heading to Washington, D.C., for the National Business Professionals of America Leadership Conference, May 3 through 8. Jennifer Kritz of West Bend, Destin Kuehl of Sheboygan, Patrick Cox of West Bend, and Liz Kuble of Jackson, had top placement in the state leadership conference in Rice Lake this past February. Kritz, Kuehl and Kuble will be continuing to the national competition.

Cox and Kritz are in Moraine Park’s Business Management program, and Kuehl and Kuble are in the Accounting program. Instructors Carrie Schmidt and Cynthia Bernhard advise Moraine Park’s BPA Club and Bernhard will be accompanying the students to Washington, D.C.

In the state competition, Kritz placed second in Fundamentals of Spreadsheet Applications, third in Integrated Office Applications, eleventh in Desktop Publishing and fifthteenth in Fundamental Word Processing Skills. Kuehl placed seventh in Advanced Accounting, eighth in Computerized Accounting and fourteenth in Payroll Accounting.  Kuble placed seventh in Fundamental Word Processing Skills, ninth in Desktop Publishing and eleventh in Fundamental Accounting. Cox placed sixth in Management/Marketing/Human Resources and eighth in Prepared Speech. Kritz and Kuehl were involved even further in the state competition as voting delegates for new state officers.

Moraine Park’s BPA Club is for business, accounting and IT students interested in preparing for the workforce by gaining experience in leadership and citizenship and strengthening academic and technological skills. For more information about the Business program at Moraine Park, visit
