Moraine Park Technical College will offer classroom training through the Future Hartford Leadership program beginning Thursday, Sept. 8. Future Hartford Leadership is sponsored by the Hartford Area Chamber.

Designed to enrich leadership skills and provide in-depth exposure to the community, candidates begin the nine-month program in September with a program orientation and kick-off, then meet monthly from October through April on the second Friday of each month for curriculum focused on a specific areas: Historic, Cultural and Religious Foundation of Greater Hartford, Health Systems, Business, Law, Education, Human Services and the Environment. The program concludes in May with a formal graduation ceremony.

Each curriculum day also includes an interactive presentation facilitated by Moraine Park on specific methods for enhancing individual and team leadership skills.

Moraine Park faculty member Lynn Zimmer will be teaching the course. Zimmer has held leadership positions in human resources, retail, sales and marketing. She has consulting experience in a variety of areas, helping many organizations increase the effectiveness of sales and service.

The class of 2011 marks the ninth year of the Future Hartford program, and Hartford joins many communities in Wisconsin and throughout the United States that have recognized the need to replenish leadership pools in their communities.
