Moraine Park Technical College and Gino’s Italian Restaurant in Fond du Lac are getting into the holiday spirit a little early by teaming up for a very special buffet-style luncheon. On Friday, Dec. 9, from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m., Moraine Park’s advanced baking classes will be serving up dishes to complement Gino’s delicious Italian menu, complete with a holiday theme. The public is encouraged to attend.
“The purpose of the luncheon is to have a venue where my advanced baking classes could display and serve items to real customers,” said Tom Endejan, culinary arts instructor at Moraine Park. “It gets them out of the classroom and into a more realistic environment.
The buffet will cost $7.95 per person. Menu items for the buffet include tortellini carbonara, beef stroganoff and chicken diavolo, pepperoni roll appetizers, assorted pizzas, fresh breads (focaccia, bread sticks, braided breads and bread displays), holiday cakes (chocolate dobos, black forest, hazelnut tortes and flavored cream puffs), tarts and pies (lemon curd tarts, quiches, filled croissants, puff pastry and ice box cookies).
“This will be an excellent learning experience for Moraine Park culinary arts students,” said Jack Knipple, owner of Gino’s. “We’re really happy to help add to the learning experience of these students by offering up our restaurant for the luncheon. It’s a perfect opportunity for the students to showcase their talents and for guests to enjoy a delicious holiday buffet.”
Gino’s is located at 584 West Johnson Street. Reservations are not required for the luncheon.
