Worker shortages, layoffs – it seems like every day we are hearing about employees being laid off and employers looking for skilled workers. As part of Hartford Union High School (HUHS)’s showcase event on Monday, Nov. 21, Moraine Park Technical College’s Jonathon Bullock will be speaking on Wisconsin’s Forgotten Middle Skill Jobs. He will speak from 5:30-6 p.m. in the drama lecture hall. Bullock serves as Moraine Park’s vice president of strategic advancement.
Middle skill jobs are those requiring more than secondary school but less than a bachelor’s degree. Bullock will speak to why layoffs are occurring and why employers aren’t finding the skilled workers they need.
Bullock’s presentation will be followed by the HUHS Showcase, from 6-8 p.m. in the HUHS Drama Lecture Hall. With hands-on activities, demonstration, student showings and more, the Showcase will be an evening of family fun and HUHS pride.
Everyone is invited to attend this free event. For more information on Moraine Park, visit morainepark.edu.
