Moraine Park hosts free business forum on recruitment strategies

Moraine Park Technical College’s Economic and Workforce Development team works with businesses to assess skill gaps, develop relevant training solutions and close performance gaps to increase skills and enhance overall business competitiveness. One way Moraine Park is achieving this is through offering business forums. Moraine Park’s business forum this month will cover recruitment strategies from Goodwill of North Central Wisconsin (NCW).

The forum will be held Thursday, March 29 from 7:30-9:30 a.m. on Moraine Park’s Fond du Lac campus. Attendees will hear from speaker Kristine Hackbarth-Horn, Chief Operating Officer of People at Goodwill, on how the company engages potential team members early in the recruiting process to discover if a career at Goodwill is a good fit.

Hackbarth-Horn will address how Goodwill seeks the best possible talent with a purposeful, slower approach to hiring; establishes an entire value stream in the section, on-boarding and retention process; and develops a robust, skilled and passionate candidate pool waiting to be hired.

Hackbarth-Horn has over twenty years of Human Resource management and leadership experience. In her current role, she is responsible for working with over 1,400 team members, program participants and volunteers in the organization to insure fulfillment of Goodwill NCW’s number one core value of putting people first.

The forum will include a facilitated Conversation Café focused on best practice sharing.
