Moraine Park offers community art courses in Beaver Dam and Mayville

     Looking for a new hobby or fun activity to beat those winter blues? Check out upcoming community courses offered at Moraine Park Technical College’s Beaver Dam campus and Mayville regional center.   
     Soap Making (CRN 31190) will be held Tuesday, Feb. 19, from 6-9 p.m. on Moraine Park’s Beaver Dam campus. Class attendees will discover how to make natural, handcrafted soaps and discover tips and shortcuts for making them at home. Cost is $23.50 to attend ($18.63 for 62 and older).      
     Every Tuesday from Feb. 19 through March 26 on Moraine Park’s Beaver Dam campus, a six-part class series on acrylic painting (CRN 30843) will be offered. Class participants will explore painting techniques with acrylic paints that are fun to do, even with no prior painting experience. Paints will be supplied. Every class will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Cost to attend the six-part class is $91.75 ($69.81 for 62 and older).    
     Glass Pendants Made Simple (CRN 30814) will take place on Saturday, Feb. 23, from noon- 3 p.m. on Moraine Park’s Beaver Dam campus. The class will focus on the art of making boro glass pendants using solid glass rods with a hands-on lampworking technique. All equipment and supplies are included. Beginner and intermediates welcome. Cost is $23.50 ($18.63 for 62 and older).
     Reclaim Your Creativity (CRN 31357) will take place at Moraine Park’s Mayville regional center, located in Mayville High School. It will be held Tuesdays, February 26 through March 26. The five-part class series will be held from 6-7:30 p.m. Participants will experiment with a new art medium in each class, including clay, fabric, paper and paint. Participants will also discuss ways to carve out time - and space - for creative pursuits and the benefits of creativity in daily life. Cost is $43.00 ($33.26 for 62 and older).
