Mike Staral of West Bend and Kim Krueger of Randolph were sworn in as the newest members of the Moraine Park Technical College District Board, July 8. Staral will serve as an employer member representative for the eastern portion of the Moraine Park District, and Krueger will represent the western portion of the District as an employee member.
The new members bring strong community ties and numerous years of experience to the board – Staral in manufacturing and Krueger in health care.
“We are thrilled to have both Kim and Mike join the board,” Dr. Sheila Ruhland, president of Moraine Park said. “They both bring extensive industry knowledge that will be beneficial to our students and community.”
Krueger has been working as a registered dietetic technician at Clearview in Juneau, Wis. for 18 years. She attributes much of her success to the associate of applied science degree she earned from Madison Area Technical College.
“I believe my experience and background will greatly benefit me as a board member because it has helped me understand the important role Moraine Park plays in the health care field,” Krueger said. “I look forward to giving back to the health care industry and community by serving on the Moraine Park District Board.”
Staral is a 1978 graduate of the tool and die program at Moraine Park and currently serves as the vice president of manufacturing at Willer Tool Corporation in Jackson, Wis. He is dedicated to advocating for technical education both through serving on the district board and at his workplace, where 65 percent of the employees are Moraine Park graduates.
“I am Moraine Park’s biggest fan,” Staral said. “I promise to work hard to keep our programs growing and inform the community of this gem of a college we have.”
In addition to Krueger and Staral, Vernon Jung was also sworn in for a new three-year term on the board.
The board nominated the following members to serve as officers: Dr. Richard Zimman, chair; Vernon Jung, vice-chair; Mike Miller, treasurer; and Lisa Mader, secretary. Lisa Mader will serve as chair of the Finance Committee, and all of the remaining board members will serve as committee members.
Appointments were also made for the district’s representatives on the Wisconsin Technical College System District Boards Association committees. Jung will serve as Moraine Park’s delegate to the association’s board of directors. Other appointees include Mike Miller, Legislative Committee; Jodine Deppisch, Human Resources Committee; Zimman, Program Committee; Lisa Mader, Marketing/Public Relations and Awards Committee; Jung, Interdistrict/Interagency Cooperation Committee; and Lowell Prill, Bylaws, Policies and Procedures Committee.
