Each year Moraine Park Technical College hosts a series of Summer Welcome Days to help new and returning students learn more about the College; and this year’s event featured a new twist. Instead of a typical campus tour, students learned to navigate the ins and outs of Moraine Park by participating in the first Great Moraine Park Amazing Race.

Jacob Deitte and Gregg Lohse, both of Fond du Lac work together to solve their next clue in the Great Moraine Park Amazing Race during this year's Summer Welcome Day.

Similar to the popular reality TV show, the race challenged students to work together in teams using clues to find locations and complete challenges around their primary campus. Each challenge was designed to familiarize students with locations and services they will have available to them as a Moraine Park student.

“It’s great,” said Culinary Arts student Gregg Lohse of Fond du Lac, who took Youth Options courses through Moraine Park while at Fond du Lac High School. “This is a good way for me to reacquaint myself with the campus and meet new people.”

Along with the race events, students had the opportunity to meet staff and win prizes. Students were also able to enjoy Moraine Park’s signature Culver’s custard flavor, Wolf Pack Choc Attack, which was selected as the winning custard flavor during Moraine Park’s 2012 Centennial Celebration.
