Trisha O’Callaghan is Moraine Park’s 2014 Commencement Keynote Speaker
Graduation set for May 17
Moraine Park Technical College has announced Trisha O’Callaghan, 1997 graduate of Moraine Park Technical College, as their 2014 Commencement keynote speaker.
The College’s 2014 Commencement Ceremony will be held Saturday, May 17, at 10:00 a.m. at the Fond du Lac High School Field House. Dr. Sheila Ruhland, Moraine Park president, will preside over the ceremony.
Nearly 800 graduate candidates will be receiving associate of applied science degrees and technical diplomas with approximately 350 graduate candidates expected to participate in the Commencement Ceremony.
“We are excited and honored to have Trisha O’Callaghan as this year’s commencement speaker,” said Moraine Park president Sheila Ruhland.
“I feel so humbled and so very honored,” said O’Callaghan, when asked about being the 2014 Commencement keynote speaker. “It has been such a privilege to continue to be involved with Moraine Park, from being part of the College’s Moraine Park Proud alumni campaign and now to be able to serve as keynote speaker.”
Following graduation from Moraine Park, O’Callaghan began her professional career working at a variety of local salons. She then proceeded to open her own business, Benesseŕe Salon and Spa in Fond du Lac, which she continues to own and operate today.
O’Callaghan is a native of Fond du Lac and in 1994, was crowned Miss Fond du Lac. She continues to remain involved in the Fond du Lac community giving back through charitable donations to a variety of local clubs and programs. She has assisted in the development of Fond du Lac’s “Look Good, Feel Better” Cancer Program. “Look Good, Feel Better” is a free public service program for women of any age undergoing cancer treatment. It focuses on how to look good and manage cancer treatments and recovery with greater confidence.
O’Callaghan is also involved as a Moraine Park Alumni. She has been involved in the College’s Moraine Park Proud! Alumni Association Campaign. A campaign featuring Moraine Park alumni sharing their success stories.
